Photo essay topic

This week the band is going to South Padre for a contest, my photo essay will be about this event and how the band likes to be very successful at everything we do.

Professional Electronic Essay Critique

This is a first person documentary photo essay. 42 photos were included in this essay. It is 3 minutes and 5 seconds long. The impact it had on me was that, this place was better than prison, but even then it still sucked so prison would be much worse, and that makes me want to never get in trouble to get sent there ever.

Good Art

In this picture rules that are being broken are that, there are no pictures that draw the reader into the main one but I like how this page is designed because its original and it looks like a whole bunch of different pictures of the students were combined to form the main one.

Good text

The "I" is the main picture but its not in the center of the page and in it is just a bunch of different pictures, none are very similar and they don't give the page the same effect as it would have it there were many small pictures that you could follow and it would lead to the main one.

Good photo

This photo dominates the spread, you are immediately drawn to it but it doesn't have pictures leading to it, I don't think it has to. I really like this spread because the words really fit in well with the picture that they chose and it also has a good use of space.

Good white space

This photo breaks a rule because it doesn't have a main picture, just many small ones and I don't think its very effective. It also has a poor use of white space because it just hovers the many pictures and I don't think that looks real good.

I chose this shot as my setting shot because it shows alot of the outside area as well as the other parts of the school, you can make out the trees, green grass and picnic tables next to the building as well as the sky in the background.

Angles and shapes

I chose this as my angles shot because I like the angles on the railing of the stairs as well as the slanted angles of some parts of the ceiling.

Pattern

I chose this as my pattern shot because you can see the pattern designs in the floor tiles as well as the equally spaced pillars and lights in the ceiling.

Light

I chose this as my light shot because it has light comming from all over, through the windows and the light fixtures in the ceiling and I thought it was very cool.

Details

I chose this as a detail shot because it is somewhat close up to the ceiling and you can make out the details in the walls and the ceiling.

This shows the details of the school really well I think, the colors of the rails and the walls.

Light

This is a good example of lighting because the light seeps through the designs in the wall.

Blog pics.

http://thymonsblog.blogspot.com/ This photo looks like is was made in real life, because you can put a fish and water in some goggles.
http://rachelphotoj.blogspot.com/ This photo looks like it is a combination of real photos and maybe used low shutter speeds to create it not photoshop.
http://gatomate-skater.blogspot.com/ This photo looks photoshopped because the ice is clear and you can see the dolls heads clearly through it
http://lil-newnew.blogspot.com/ This photo looks as though it was just takin at a different angle, it doesn't look like anything extra was added through photoshop.
http://shaunk566.blogspot.com/ This photo was photoshopped, unless someone really saw a ghost, but you can clearly tell that it is because it looks fake.
